Andrew Hogue is Director of AI Engineering at Google Workspace where he is responsible for the most challenging frontier AI features across the product line, including Docs Help Me Write, Sheets Data Analyst, Slides Help Me Visualize, Vids Storyboard, and the Gemini Sidepanel. He has worn many other hats in his time in Workspace, including leading the creation of Workspace's shared GenAI platform, leading the GMail and Drive search teams, and leading the Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Sites, and Keep teams. |
Previously, Andrew was VP of Engineering at Blue Apron in New York City, overseeing the team building consumer apps warehouse management systems, and demand forecasting and data pipelines. He has also worked at Foursquare as the head of engineering for two years and as the head of search for three years, and at Google Searchas a Senior Staff Engineer and Engineering Manager, where he led the structured data and information extraction group, working on projects like question answering, sentiment analysis, and Google Squared. |
Prior to Google, Andrew received his Bachelors and Masters degree
from MIT's CSAIL.
His research into pattern
recognition algorithms and interfaces for
the Haystack group was
recognized with the William A. Martin Award for Outstanding Master's
Thesis.
